Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979)

I have a penchant for vampire films and Isabelle Adjani is so beautiful in Nostferatu the Vampyre, directed by Werner Herzog I could not help sharing a million screen captures.
This weekend I will be donning a cape and wandering around looking anaemic, what is your favourite monster?

  1. I really enjoy watching films with Isabelle Adjani. I haven't seen this one yet, but it's going on my Netflix queue. Thanks for the suggestion!

  2. I am ashamed to say that I have never seen this! :( Rubbish I know, it looks so beautiful can't wait to watch it. Vampires are my favourite (even before the Twilight induced vampire trend) Craig and I have an obsession with bats. xx

  4. i totally agree on nosferatu. murnau's as well as herzogs. i love the icecold melancholy and lonelyness of Graf Orlok.
the silent darkness of the heart is what wins my sympathy. for the same reason i like batman.

  13. I studies all the Nosferatu films and different takes at Uni, I adore them! I normally don't find monsters scary, haah, I normally side with the monsters and just get excited with the thrill of the chase and plot! Evil bad guy humans can really terrify me though! Hope you've had a nice weekend! x

  16. Vampires are far and away the best monsters - for the fact that they're alluring whilst also being scary. All the others you would just run a mile from immediately whereas vampires can be quite tempting... Oh, unless you count pixies and faeries as monsters. They tend to be treated as nice things now but there's lots of malevolent ones throughout folklore.

By the way, thought I'd let you know that I've given you a blog award - to accept or ignore as you so choose. I won't be at all offended if you'd rather not have anything to do with it!

  17. Hi!

Great review! I saw the 1920's version of this, it's very creepy but fun to watch!

  18. Miss Marie: They are the most romantic monsters, staying young and living forever. I do love folklore as well especially mermaids and fairies. Thank you so much for my award, it is really appreciated. x

Life is Beautiful: Thank you I need to watch the 1920s version have never gotten round to it which is terrible of me!
